meruyert-shagmanovaMeruyert Shagmanova has lived in Oman since 2015, working for one year as AIESEC’s National Vice President for Brand Experience and Public Relations. She led a geographically dispersed team responsible for overall brand development, marketing, public relations, leads and conversion, achieving 200% growth in programs during her first six months – the largest growth for the past five years.

Meruyert’s work with AIESEC – an international youth leadership organization – has featured a number of other roles in her home country of Kazakhstan and elsewhere. From January 2014 – June 2015, she served in a variety of capacities in Kazakhstan: Member of the National Support Team for Digital Marketing, Vice President of Finance and Legality, and Education Team Leader in Talent Management. During Summer 2013, she worked in Mainland China on AIESEC’s Global Citizen Program.

In addition to her AIESEC experience, Meruyert has worked for a number of private sector companies in Kazakhstan, including accounting, HR and marketing roles for Imperial Tobacco Kazakhstan, Microsoft, and Globalink Transportation and Logistics. In 2015, she won a case study competition in corporate taxation and international tax systems, sponsored by Price-Waterhouse Coopers in Almaty.

Meruyert attended Almaty Management University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business, a State Diploma with Honors, and the Best Student of the Year Diploma.
